Colorado Travel Impacts, 1996-2006

This report provides an estimate of the economic impacts of travel in the state of Colorado and its regions and counties from 1996 through 2006. The primary focus of this report is on the impacts generated by overnight visitors (including domestic and international visitors traveling for either business or leisure). Statewide estimates of employment and earnings are also provided for total direct travel (which includes day trips, travel services, and air passenger travel not related to visitors). Secondary impacts are not included. A primary objective of this research is to provide reliable, detailed figures that allow comparisons from year-to-year for the state and county levels.
