This report describes the economic impacts of travel to and through the State
of Idaho and each of its 44 counties during 1997. These impact estimates provide
measurement of the visitor expenditures in Idaho, and the employment, wage and salary
income (payroll), and tax revenue directly generated from these expenditures. In
addition, the county impact estimates have been combined into seven regional groupings
to facilitate an analysis of the significance of the travel industry in different
geographic areas of the state. A primary objective of this research is to provide
reliable, detailed figures that allow comparisons from year-to-year for the state
and county levels.
