Washington Travel Impacts by County, 1992-2007

2008 Preliminary State Estimates

These reports document the economic significance of the travel industry in the state of Washington and each of its 39 counties from 1991 through 2008. These findings show the level of travel spending by those traveling to and through the state and the impact this spending has on the economy in terms of earnings, employment, and tax revenue. County-level findings include detailed estimates of travel spending, employment and earnings generated by this spending, as well as travel-generated tax receipts. The estimates for 2008 are preliminary and will be revised when more complete data becomes available. A primary objective of this research is to provide reliable, detailed figures that allow comparisons from year-to-year at the state and county levels.
