The purpose of this study is to document the economic significance of the
travel industry in each of West Virginia's fifty-five counties from 2000 to 2006.
Travel impact estimates for 2006 are preliminary. This report provides detailed
estimates of travel spending, the employment and earnings generated by this spending, and travel-generated tax receipts. A primary objective of this
research is to provide reliable, detailed estimates, which allow comparisons from year-to-year for the state and county levels.
